Blake Monroe Debuts in WWE NXT
Blake Monroe, who made her debut with the WWE’s NXT brand earlier this month, is part of a significant shift as the company expands its roster of free agents, changing the face of professional wrestling.
Previously known as Mariah Mae in Stardom, where she held the women’s championship after a notable rivalry with Tony Storm, Monroe is now setting her sights on the NXT women’s champion, Jacy Jayne. She hopes to add another accolade to her already impressive career.
Wrestling legend Bubba Ray Dudley recently commented on Monroe’s journey, noting how she made the most of her talent in her previous roles. “She really caught my eye over the years with her commitment and work ethic,” he said. “Honestly, I think she’s reached her potential there. Coming to WWE feels like the right direction for her.”
Dudley expressed his belief that Monroe could evolve into a major star for WWE. “I mean, I’m not sure I have what it takes to turn her into a celebrity,” he noted, hesitating briefly on the idea of referring to her as just a “sports entertainer.”
He sees her involvement in NXT as a promising choice. “Working with Shawn Michaels and this talented team—Blake has the chance to really shine,” he added, suggesting that she’ll likely be a significant draw moving forward.
At a recent contract signing event on NXT, Monroe told fans that pursuing dreams with WWE is always worth it. Her enthusiasm was palpable, even if the details about her first official match remain uncertain.
Looking ahead, there’s a buzz about her matchup with Jacy Jayne, particularly after Jayne put Monroe through a table in a recent encounter—definitely an interesting welcome to the ring.
