Blaze News’ Steve Baker released from courthouse after arrest over his Jan. 6 reporting — and notables have been reacting

Steve Baker, an investigative journalist with Blaze News, was arrested early Friday morning for reporting on Jan. 6 and was released from federal court in Dallas.

Following his release, Baker also spoke with BlazeTV’s Steve Diese.

What are the details?

Baker, who has long sought the truth about Jan. 6, 2021 and believes the U.S. government is after it, said Friday that he will be reporting on Jan. 6 at the U.S. Capitol after a turnaround. He was charged with four related misdemeanors. He will also turn himself in to the FBI in Dallas.

But first he was handcuffed and walked away by the bad guys.

The prices are as follows:

  • knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority;
  • Disorderly and disruptive behavior in restricted buildings or grounds
  • Acts that disrupt the order inside the National Diet Building
  • Parades, demonstrations, and picketing inside the Capitol

BlazeTV Contributor Jill Savage I got it. On Friday, she left the courtroom with Baker. Baker said: “He was able to wear a dress, but his wrists and ankles were shackled. He is scheduled to be released today. His next hearing is March 14th in Washington, D.C. It is scheduled for.”

Baker first learned of the charges on Friday and told Blaze News earlier this week that she would not tell her attorney about the charges because authorities believed Baker would post them on social media.

James Lee Bright, Baker’s Dallas attorney, told Blaze News that withholding the charges against his client was a “highly unusual” move.

Mr Bright told Blaze News he was “upset” by what was happening to his client, especially given Mr Baker had been “fully compliant” all along. Bright also said that the fact that the federal government is “still pursuing people who were lawfully working as journalists that day, more than three years later,” was designed to have an “absolute chilling effect.” He said that it seems that

Baker said he asked another attorney, William Shipley, why the federal government was treating him this way, and Shipley said, “You know why. You spent three years in their care.” He stabbed me in the eye,” he added.

“This is truly outrageous.”
