Elon gets super political with super PAC donations

Blaze Media’s senior political editor and Washington correspondent Christopher Bedford joins Jill on the “Blaze News Tonight” panel from Day 2 of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to discuss Elon Musk’s recent political moves and the conviction of Democratic Senator Bob Menendez.

“He’s really brave,” Bedford said of Musk’s donation pledge.

Not only has Musk pledged to donate a “staggering $45 million per month” to Trump’s super PAC, he has also vowed to “move his space company to Texas” and voiced his opposition to California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom’s bill to allow children to have a sex change without their parents’ knowledge.

Additionally, Democratic Senator Bob Menendez, whom Bedford describes as “one of the most openly corrupt senators” and “an incredibly arrogant politician,” was convicted on “federal corruption charges.”

“Even Democrats just want him out,” Bedford said.

Additionally, Blaze Media national correspondent Julio Rosas, who is also attending the Republican National Convention, spoke with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) about her thoughts on Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance.

“This is the direction I want the party to go, America First,” Greene said of Vance.

In response to Biden’s call for “unity,” Greene bluntly stated, “If Joe Biden and the Democratic Party are serious about unity, they will fully end the weaponization of the Justice Department that he has enabled, bring back Merrick Garland, and drop all charges against President Trump.” [and] He will release political prisoners who have been incarcerated for years for protesting against electoral fraud.”

Secret Service Failure and Kimberly Cheatle’s Refusal to Resign

With the Secret Service on high alert after reports emerged that Iran was trying to assassinate Donald Trump, former Navy SEAL and security expert Erik Prince joins us on TV to uncover the truth behind the threat.

“I think this is a desperate effort to distract from the totally failed job of protecting the Republican front-runner and the front-runner to become the next president,” Prince told Gill, adding that he didn’t “have a lot of credibility” with the threat.

“We are suffering from a bloated, obese, unaccountable and inefficient federal agency that continues to harm us as we move away from a good meritocratic, executive-based society,” he continued, noting that if Trump had been killed, “it could have literally ripped the country apart.”

When Prince points out the incompetence of federal agencies, he is at least partially attributing it to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle. DEI initiative to ensure 30% of the force is female.

Cheatle is technically a[taken] She takes “responsibility” for the assassination attempt on Trump, yet refused to quit his job.

While the FBI has vowed to investigate Saturday’s unfortunate incident, Gill questions the veracity of their claims, given “the way federal agencies have handled Donald Trump-related matters in the past.”

Prince agreed, saying he had “no confidence whatsoever that the federal government can investigate itself.”

January 6th Victory

For one of the defendants on January 6, things changed dramatically. John Strand was ordered released by a federal judge in July..

Steve Baker, an investigative reporter for The Blaze News and a victim of January 6th, appears on the show to provide details about Strand’s case. Steve tells Jill and the panel that Strand is one of the “high profile cases” of the January 6th defendants.

Strand was at the Capitol on January 6 because he was a friend and bodyguard of Dr. Simone Gold, who was barred from public office during the COVID-19 pandemic for recommending “alternative therapies that are not part of Administration-approved policies.”

Dr. Gold was scheduled to speak at the Capitol that day, a “legally permitted” event, but by the time the Oath Keepers and Strand escorted Dr. Gold to the speaking location, chaos had already begun.

“John Strand and Simone Gold did not participate in any violent acts, they did not participate in any breach of the Capitol,” Baker said, “but when the doors were opened, they did in fact peacefully go in, along with hundreds and thousands of other people, and she did in fact decide to deliver the speech that she had prepared in the Rotunda.”

After Dr. Gold finished speaking, she and Strand “peacefully left the scene,” but they were both “arrested fairly quickly” and charged with not only several misdemeanors, but also “the notorious felony offense of misconduct, 1512, which can carry a prison sentence of up to 20 years.”

While Gold ultimately accepted a plea deal that included 60 days in jail, Strand decided to “be a warrior” and fight the charges. He was ultimately sentenced to 32 months in prison.

“They committed the exact same crime, but because he wasted the government’s time and put them through the trouble of preparing for trial, Simone got two months in prison and he got 32 months,” Baker said.

However, Strand was released after the Supreme Court overturned the 1512 decision.
