Latin Grammy winner Bobby Pulido under investigation for residency in Texas election

Bobby Pulido’s Controversial Music Video and Political Aspirations

Bobby Pulido, a Latin Grammy Award-winning artist and Democratic candidate for Texas’ 15th Congressional District, has recently found himself in the spotlight due to a provocative music video.

The music video for his 2010 song “Díaz de Ayer” features a scene with a man under a red blanket engaging in inappropriate behavior, seemingly exposing himself to a woman nearby on a plane. Following the video’s release, Mexican media questioned Pulido about the implications regarding his sexuality.

In a 2010 interview with El Norte, Pulido reflected on changing attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community, noting, “People are becoming more open-minded. I would even say that when I started my career, I viewed the whole situation differently. Initially, there were rumors about my sexuality, but they were just that—rumors.”

After announcing his campaign, Pulido faced scrutiny due to past posts on his social media, including links to explicit sites and a controversial image showing him urinating on President Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It seems to have reignited discussions around his past comments, including some pointed critiques of Trump.

In one of his tweets, he called out a drug executive with a crude remark, and in another, he crafted a rather vulgar insult directed at Trump, adding to the controversy surrounding his public persona.

Pulido has also described himself as a “winter Texan,” as he tends to spend a significant portion of the year living in Mexico, which adds another layer to his complex identity as he campaigns for the seat currently held by two-term incumbent Rep. Monica de la Cruz (R-Texas).

It’ll be interesting to see how this all unfolds as Pulido continues his campaign. FOX News Digital has reached out for further comment.
