Bodies of murdered Kansas moms found buried in freezer as gruesome details emerge in court docs

The bodies of a brutally murdered Kansas mother were found in a cow pasture inside a chest freezer, according to new court documents obtained by KFOR.

Investigators in Oklahoma called off their search for Veronica Butler, 39, and Jillian Kelly, 27, in April.

Police said the pair were last seen on March 30, when they were on their way to pick up their children before their car was abandoned near the Oklahoma-Kansas border. It was discovered that he was being carried away, and suspicious activity is suspected.

A search warrant filed in court on May 15 details that Kelly and Butler’s bodies were found in a freezer after two days of digging at a cattle ranch burial site. However, the document does not provide details on how the women were killed, KFOR reported.

The warrant also reportedly indicates that data related to the murder was recovered from the cell phones of several suspects involved in the case.

Adams, one of the women arrested, is reportedly the grandmother of Butler’s children. Court records revealed that Adams was involved in a custody battle with Butler’s children. The children’s father is in a rehabilitation facility.
