Police and law enforcement say the body of a man with a prosthetic leg was found floating near Brooklyn Bridge Tuesday morning.
Authorities and sources say that witnesses discovered the body near Pier 1 on Furman Street and Old Fulton Street around 6:45am, calling it 911.
The NYPD Harbor Unit and FDNY EMS responded and pulled out their bodies, police said.
The man looked about 30 years old and had a right leg with a prosthetic leg, sources said.
The circumstances of his death were not immediately known.
The city's medical inspector's office will give an official sentence, police said.
