Bodybuilder Jodi Vance passed away last Thursday at age 20 in Columbus, Ohio after suffering a fatal heart attack while attending the Arnold Sports Festival.
“Her heart stopped due to complications of severe dehydration. Despite all efforts by the hospital, they were unable to bring her back.” Vance's family wrote in a social media post.
“She is a beautiful person both inside and outside and will be overlooked every day. This was sudden and unexpected. Give her family time to handle this loss peacefully. If someone receives anything from now on, put your health first.”
Vance was not competing in the Columbus game but was present to help the student coach. According to TMZ.
She began to feel sick after attending the competition and was eventually taken to a local hospital where she was later declared dead.
Her coach, Justin Miharry, claimed in an Instagram video that Vance was using potentially harmful supplements without his knowledge despite no competition for the future.
“Jody made a serious mistake.” Miharry said. “Jody has used two extremely dangerous substances to improve his physique. I'm assuming it just for the Arnold Expo.

Vance, who is originally from Texas, finished third in the female physique category in the 2024 NPC Battle in Texas.
She regularly posted photos of her improved physique, motivational thoughts and quotes on her Instagram account.
“Champions are not measured by victory, but with the courage to stand up every time they fall,” Vance posted last week.
“That's not how many times life will defeat you. It's about standing up, moving forward, refusing to surrender. True greatness is built not only in victory, but resilience. #iamementing.”
Miharry added that everyone is sad and sad at the death of his star eyes.
“If you believe that we can respect Jody the most, I welcome you to put your responsibility on me,” Miharry said.
