Body camera video of a reported shootout between a Chicago Police Department officer and a man who allegedly shot and killed a Jewish resident on the streets of West Rogers Park in October has been released.
The video appears to show Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi fleeing the scene of the wounding of a 39-year-old Jewish man, but then allegedly returning to confront police before opening fire on them. is. He reportedly kept shouting “Allah, Akbar” while firing at the Jewish man.
Abdallahi was arrested after the shootout and charged with attacking a Jewish man walking to a synagogue.
The video was released Thursday by the Office of Civilian Police Accountability.
The footage appears to show Abdallahi running from alley to alley, firing at police as they fire back. Mr. Abdallahi was eventually seen lying on his side with police yelling for him to move onto his stomach. When he started moving again, officers fired several more shots.
Officers quickly approached Abdallahi and treated his gunshot wound.
The suspect was arrested and charged with six counts of attempted first-degree murder, seven counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm, and a hate crime.
Officials reported that Abdallahi was transferred from St. Francis Hospital to the Cook County Jail medical facility on Nov. 15. However, on November 30, the suspect was found hanging in his cell in a suicide attempt. He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he pronounced Died.
Abdallahi is also reportedly one of Joe Biden's catch-and-release immigrants.
