Boise State coach Spencer Danielson gave a gospel presentation on national television that would make Billy Graham proud Friday after his team's playoff win over UNLV. The ninth-ranked Broncos defeated the Running Rebels 21-7 in the Mountain West Conference championship, securing a berth in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff and becoming the third seed in the 12-1 field. He will be participating in the VRBO Fiesta Bowl on March 31st. Boise State, which received a bye, will play the winner of Penn State-SMU.
“All glory should be given to Jesus,” Danielson told a national audience in his first postgame television interview.
“So we're serving champions,” he added. “Jesus died on the cross and rose again three days later. That's the God I serve. Hey hey, everything is possible. And our players, they don't shy away from hard work. . They just keep swinging, keep swinging, keep swinging.'' That's unusual.
“They deserve credit. Jesus deserves credit. We have the best staff in the nation, we have the best fan base in the country.”

Faith was at the heart of Danielson's success at Boise. In August, he helped baptize Boise State star running back Ashton Giunty, a Heisman Trophy candidate. Giunty previously said he signed with Boise because of its strong culture of faith.
Giunty also mentioned his faith in Friday's postgame interview.
“Glory be to God,” Giunty told a nationally televised audience after Boise’s win. “We wouldn't be here without him. I'm so grateful for this opportunity. I love this team. This is a family.”
Earlier this year, Danielson said her Christian faith gives her peace amid uncertainty.
“No matter what position you're in, as a teacher, as a coach, as a professional, things happen,” he said on the podcast. sports spectrum. “There are so many things out of my control and so many disappointments. The only thing that never disappoints me is my relationship with Jesus Christ. That's the only thing that doesn't change.”
Jeanty has also been vocal about her faith.
“I would like to say that I am a Christian cleverly disguised as an All-American running back,” Giunty said in a video posted to his social media accounts. The video included an interview he conducted with FCA.
“I realized that God had given me a great talent,” he said. “I was able to do a lot of great things with it, but at the same time I was able to understand that my identity is in Christ without losing myself.”
