Axios reports that Dan Bongino, a Deputy FBI, and Attorney General Pam Bondi are involved with files linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Multiple sources indicate that the outlet noted Bongino “took the day off” on Friday, which coincided with Bondi’s conflicted stance following a Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI memo. This memo revealed Epstein had a client list and had been investigated concerning alleged suicide.
The report suggests there were rumors that Bongino had left after he missed work that day.
- Despite some insiders suggesting Bongino had exited, executives claim he remains employed, even amidst ongoing tensions regarding the Epstein matter.
- Conversely, a source close to Bongino mentioned, “He won’t return.”
The report also notes that two sources familiar with Bongino’s circumstances think he is growing increasingly dissatisfied with how Bondi is managing the Epstein situation, particularly because she hasn’t taken a more public stance.
After the memo was released, during a cabinet meeting, President Donald Trump reacted sharply to a question posed to Bondi about the Epstein case and a missing minute from the “night prison tape.”
When Trump asked reporters if they were still discussing Epstein, Bondi stated she wanted to address questions, even amid the devastating events in Texas.
“I never thought I’d be discussing Epstein in times like these. There’s just been such success and tragedy with what occurred in Texas,” Trump told the press.
Bondi noted in a February interview, when questioned about Epstein’s client list, that she had been discussing files linked to Epstein during a review.
“To clarify, I spoke with Fox in February, and they asked about the client list, which has garnered significant attention. Plus, tens of thousands of videos linked to child pornography related to that vile Epstein were revealed. Such materials are never disclosed and should not see the light of day,” she stated.
