Boosie Badazz Sues Political Operatives for Failed Pardon
Boosie Badazz has reportedly taken legal action against political operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman after they allegedly failed to secure him a presidential pardon.
The rapper claims he paid $600,000 to obtain a pardon from President Donald Trump, which, according to TMZ, never came through. They cited a NOTUS report indicating that the rapper made a deal with Wohl and Burkman in the fall of 2025. They convinced him they had close connections to the president, even suggesting they had Trump “on speed dial.”
His lawsuit primarily seeks a refund. Boosie is trying to reclaim $300,000 based on a clause in their agreement that stipulated half the fee would be refunded if the pardon wasn’t granted, as reported by TMZ.
The legal documents suggest that on New Year’s Day, the rapper’s attorney was informed that Trump had signed the pardon, though the White House hadn’t disclosed it yet. However, the documents assert that no pardon was ever signed and that Wohl and Burkman refused to return the funds.
It’s claimed that they denied the existence of a refund agreement and, further, said their law firm was financially strained due to substantial fines from other legal matters, as per TMZ.
Burkman defended their efforts, stating, “Boosie has no reason to be unhappy. In 30 years of lobbying, I doubt we have ever done more work and harder work.” He also mentioned that the refund provision Boosie referenced was never part of any agreement. Additionally, he pointed out that Boosie’s pursuit of a pardon became more complicated due to an arrest for an alleged violent crime in Texas earlier this year.
“We tried very, very hard,” Burkman added.
Moreover, a White House official reportedly denied any connection between Wohl and Burkman and the pardon process, saying they had “never heard from” them. Interestingly, they also noted that these operatives could have actually reduced the chances of receiving a pardon from Trump.
At the time of this situation, Boosie Badazz was serving time for firearm possession following a criminal conviction stemming from a May 2023 arrest in San Diego.
