Border Patrol Arrests Hit Record Low in June
Social media posts by Tom Homan, a prominent figure in border enforcement, reveal that the number of immigrant arrests while illegally crossing into the United States fell below 6,000 in June. This marks the lowest figure recorded in modern border patrol history, representing a 41% decline from the previous month.
Homan noted, “The total Border Patrol encounters for June 2025 were 6,070, which, frankly, is less than what we saw in a single day during the Biden administration.” He emphasized that all of those arrested were not released into the U.S.
The 6,070 individuals apprehended by Border Patrol in June reflect a drop of over 41% from 10,362 arrests in May and a staggering 93% reduction from the 87,606 arrests reported in June 2024.
“President Trump created the safest borders in our nation’s history, and this data supports that,” Homan remarked. “We’ve never observed numbers this low.”
The previous low record was set during Trump’s administration in March, when 8,193 immigrants were apprehended.
Throughout June, agents dealt with an average of more than 202 immigrant encounters per day. This contrasts sharply with May 2022, where agents faced 7,503 individuals daily, a significantly higher rate than the June 2025 figures during the Trump era.
“Internal arrests and consequences serve as a deterrent for illegal immigrants,” Homan argued.
Since President Trump took office in February, Border Patrol has apprehended 43,878 immigrants. The total number from the past five months is lower than any monthly figures recorded under the Biden administration.
“God bless the men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol and ICE,” Homan concluded. “The Trump Effect continues to secure America’s victories.”
