Tom Homan Confronts Hecklers at University Event

Tom Homan, the White House border czar, expressed his anger on Thursday towards a heckler who labeled him a “racist” during a speech at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Texas at El Paso.

While Homan discussed immigration enforcement, attendees interrupted him with shouts, calling him a “racist” and a “traitor.” In response, Homan dismissed the comments, saying, “Call me whatever you want, I don’t care.” He further challenged the hecklers to take action themselves, asking, “Why don’t you straighten your spine, put on your Kevlar vest, put your gun on your hip and go defend this border?”

During a Q&A session, one heckler suggested that Patrick Crusius, the man behind the 2019 El Paso Walmart shooting, could have been influenced by Homan’s support for the Great Replacement Theory. The protesters accused Homan of promoting the idea that non-white immigrants are “replacing” white Americans, arguing that such beliefs are now mainstream within conservative circles.

Homan stated that he believes the Biden administration has intentionally left the southern border vulnerable to secure a new base of Democratic voters, though he acknowledged in a congressional hearing that there’s no substantial evidence backing this claim.

Crusius received a life sentence earlier this year after pleading guilty to numerous charges related to the shooting that claimed 23 lives and injured 22 others. His manifesto allegedly contained white supremacist views along with references to the “Great Replacement Theory” as inspiration for his actions.
