Border Patrol Agents Pursue Chicago Cyclist Who Mocked Them

A cyclist in the Chicago Loop had a contentious encounter with several U.S. Border Patrol agents on Sunday.

The event took place on North Dearborn Street, while the agents were simply walking on the sidewalk. Reports surfaced on Monday regarding the incident.

Christopher Sweatt captured the tense moments as the man shouted at the agents.

“Hey, I’m not a US citizen! Come on!” he exclaimed, waving his hands. In the footage, it seems he also yelled, “Forget Trump!” which made one agent chuckle as they stepped away.

At one point, an agent noted that the cyclist had dropped his phone, prompting him to return for it. But, as he bent down to retrieve it, several agents began to pursue him.

The cyclist managed to escape:

A longer version of the clip shows the moment before the chase, with the agent walking down the sidewalk. The man confronted them, saying, “I’m not a US citizen. What’s going on?”

This incident coincided with numerous Border Patrol agents patrolling downtown Chicago.

The patrol was also linked to demonstrations occurring at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Center in Broadview, Illinois.

Video footage captures scenes from outside the facility:

The Breitbart News article mentions:

Agents were seen passing key Chicago tourist spots in the busy shopping district, just days after sending boats filled with Border agents down the Chicago River and shortly after individuals at a local Home Depot sought illegal day labor.

Video clips recently shared show Chicago residents expressing gratitude toward the federal agents present.

In another video, a group can be heard chanting, “Ice is back home!” as the federal agents were patrolling:

In late August, President Trump stated his administration was considering stricter measures to tackle crime in Chicago after achieving similar federal efforts in Washington, D.C., according to reports.
