Border Patrol Sweep at Home Depot in California
This week, the U.S. Border Patrol conducted an operation in a Home Depot parking lot near Sacramento, California, resulting in the arrest of nearly a dozen undocumented immigrants. This action highlights that federal immigration enforcement continues despite the opposition from California officials, particularly in sanctuary areas.
On Thursday morning, officers apprehended an individual with numerous prior criminal charges and a fentanyl conviction, an event reported by Fox News during their ride-along segment.

The pursuit included a foot chase and the arrest of a man who claimed to be a citizen but was accused of damaging a federal vehicle.
Gregory Bovino, chief of the U.S. Border Patrol’s El Centro Sector, stated that similar operations would persist as part of their efforts to locate criminal aliens in California. He emphasized:
“There are no sanctuaries. Sacramento is not a sanctuary city, California is not a sanctuary state, and there are no sanctuaries anywhere. We intend to be active in many locations. Our mission is to secure our communities.”
Among those arrested was Javier Dimas Alcantara, a Mexican national with a history of 67 prior bookings for various crimes, including robbery and drug offenses, dating back to the 1980s, according to reports.
California Governor Gavin Newsom reacted to the operation, stating that Border Patrol should focus their efforts at the actual border rather than engaging in what he described as illegal racial profiling and arrests, as per KCRA news.
On the other hand, DHS Deputy Director Tricia McLaughlin took a different stance, arguing that Alcantara’s extensive criminal record indicated he would not be a good neighbor. She criticized politicians like Newsom for allegedly defending those who harm communities and for undermining law enforcement.
The sweep reportedly included additional arrests, such as a Guatemalan felon and two individuals who had previously been deported, one of whom was a Mexican national charged with driving without a license.
Some reports indicated that federal vehicles were damaged during the operation, and a man accused of slashing a tire has been taken into custody.
