The union representing U.S. Border Patrol agents says the Biden administration is responding to shocking footage showing more than 100 migrants breaking through the southern border wall and breaking through razor wire to enter the country illegally. He accused it of creating “anarchy” on the southern border.
“It’s only going to get worse. It’s just the beginning.” Border Security Coalition wrote online Thursday. The Post’s exclusive video footage also showed chaotic scenes of migrants trampling agents in a frenzy as they tried to cross into the United States.
“The anarchy that Joe Biden and his radical leftists have unleashed on the American people is despicable,” the paper said.
Several Republicans, including Tennessee Rep. Scott DesJarlais, echoed the union’s comments, saying the president “must close the border immediately.”
“Please pray for the safety of our National Guard, CBP personnel, and all those on the front lines of this crisis,” he wrote to X. Share the video.
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) threatened to overturn the president’s budget proposal over the confusing situation.
‘This is Joe Biden’s America’ Burchett I have writtenvows “No borders, no budgets!”
The official House Republican X account also shared the video. write: “Border security is national security.”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott said in a statement to the Post that the scene was “a direct result of the unsustainable chaos President Biden has caused at the border.”
The chaos at the border crossing in El Paso, Texas, occurred as the Lone Star State’s National Guard tried to separate about 600 migrants into small groups, separating women and children from adult men in the process.
A group of immigrants (mostly single men), apparently enraged by this diaspora, rushed the Texan army.
A group of men wearing parkas, gloves and winter jackets were then seen pulling apart the fence and running through a concertina of wire, while a group of five guards formed a defensive position to fill the gap.
The guards, armed with rifles, took up positions in front of the migrants, but they were vastly outnumbered.
In the video, some of the intruders put their hands up in surrender, while others climbed through, some moving out of the way between the guards’ legs.
The group then scrambled to the border gate and began shouting at security guards on the other side.
FOX News reporter Bill Melgin later wrote that one person was arrested for assaulting a soldier at X. He added that additional charges related to property damage and assault are likely, citing Border Patrol officials.
But the city of El Paso’s immigration dashboard showed 743 people were released from custody and entered the United States on Thursday. They were either granted parole or moved forward with their asylum claims under Biden’s policies.
They joined thousands of others who have descended on Texas, where 2,000 to 2,500 migrants are now in federal custody each night.
To deal with this surge, Border Patrol Commissioner Jason Owens said the agency needs more resources from the federal government and the ability to impose more “consequences” on migrants who cross the border. He said that.
“I’m talking about prison sentences,” he said. told CBS News Thursday.
“I’m talking about deportation, I’m talking about being barred from returning home, because you’re entering the country illegally, not through the legal channels that we have set out. Because I chose to do so.”
The newspaper has contacted the White House for comment.
