Students from MIT, Emerson College, and Tufts University set up an encampment in solidarity with Columbia University’s Gaza Solidarity Encampment.
“We have shown the administrators the power that we have, and we cannot relinquish it. We are the ones running this campus, and we are the ones who made it what it is. We are here,” student Hanna said, adding that she is part of the MIT Palestine Coalition.

“We are in power and we have to show them that we will not back down until they meet our demands,” Hannah continued. “Right behind us is an encampment of scientists against genocide, and following in the footsteps of Colombia, we are in an encampment in solidarity with Gaza.”
The student went on to explain that “every school in the Boston area” is currently setting up encampments in protest of Israel and is calling on their respective universities to respond to Israel’s demands.
“Every school in the Boston area has four demands,” Hanna said. “The first is to disclose the investment, and the second is to sever ties with IOF.” [a derogatory acronym referring to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)], the third is to call for a ceasefire, and the fourth is to drop the charges against the students. ”
“We are here in solidarity with our brothers in Gaza and with our brothers in Colombia,” the MIT students concluded.
In particular, the following students: emerson college and tufts university They also set up camps in protest against Israel and in solidarity with pro-Palestinian student protesters who were recently arrested in Colombia.
As Breitbart News reported, more than 100 anti-Israel protesters at Columbia University were arrested last week as the Ivy League president testified before a House committee about the campus’ response to anti-Semitism. Columbia University canceled all in-person classes on Monday as pro-Palestinian protests continue to rock the campus.
Columbia University is not the only school in the United States where students have been arrested as a result of their actions during anti-Israel protests.
At least 45 people were arrested at Yale University on Monday as police in riot gear entered the campus to quell a pro-Palestinian protest. Face-to-face classes were also canceled on this day.
Last week, 19 students at Pomona College in Claremont, California, were arrested following a pro-Palestinian protest that involved occupying an administration building on campus.
Earlier this month, three Vanderbilt University students were expelled following a pro-Palestinian protest on campus that resulted in several arrests last month.
