During a recent appearance on CNN, Squad member Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) mocked Hillary Clinton for her endorsement of her primary opponent, Westchester County Mayor George Latimer.
Appearing on CNN’s “Laura Coates Live” on Thursday night, the progressive lawmaker denied recent reports that Clinton had endorsed her opponent and praised the many other prominent left-leaning politicians and groups who have backed the congressman for reelection.
“With all due respect, I would never call it a full endorsement,” Bowman told host Laura Coates of the announcement by Clinton, who is seeking a third term in New York’s 16th Congressional District.

New York Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman criticized Hillary Clinton for endorsing his opponent, Westchester County Mayor George Latimer, in the House primary.
Clinton endorsed X on Thursday, writing, “With Trump running, we need strong, principled Democrats in Congress now more than ever. In Congress, @LatimerforNY will protect abortion rights, stand up to the NRA, and fight for President Biden’s policies — just like we have all along. Make a plan to vote by June 25th!”
As Bowman continued to deny snubbed Clinton, he listed the people who were on his side.
“We have the endorsement of the incumbent Senator from Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren, the incumbent Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, and the Democratic Minority Leader from New York, Hakeem Jeffries,” he said.
Bowman has also been endorsed by other members of the Squad, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York).
He added various organizations have supported him: “We have support from Planned Parenthood, 1199, many others.”
Bowman was referring to 1199SEIU, a prominent US health care union.
“I appreciate our support and they will help us win this election,” he declared.

He then criticized Clinton and Latimer, beginning with their stance on Israel’s war in Gaza, which he described as an “unjustified attack on civilians.”
“Unfortunately, my opponent and Secretary Clinton do not support a permanent ceasefire,” he said, adding, “They support Benjamin Netanyahu and support billions of dollars flowing to Israel and Netanyahu for their unjust attacks on civilians in Gaza, while billions of dollars flow into my district to support child care, housing, transportation and many other issues.”
While Bowman and other far-left progressives have been vocal in their opposition to Israel, Latimer is backed by the pro-Israel AIPAC group.
Bowman also accused both politicians of being “out of touch” with their districts.

During Tuesday’s debate, Latimer accused Bowman of ignoring white and Asian residents of Westchester County and parts of the Bronx.
“You don’t mention people who aren’t black or brown. Jamal, there is one district that you have ignored and that district knows that you are ignoring it,” Latimer said.
In a recent interview with Politico, Bowman slammed his Democratic opponent, saying, “He’s in the pocket of Republican billionaires who want to take away our voting rights, reproductive rights, affirmative action, and he’s a racist. And he’s not just anti-Black, he’s anti-Muslim.”
