The Boy Scouts of America are no longer an image of Americana innocence. And now it seems like there was actually no innocence to begin with.
The organization announced it would change its name to “Scouting America” to promote inclusivity and explore diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
“Can we remind America that this organization has filed 83,000 lawsuits for sexual misconduct against boys?” Jaco Buens asked, adding, “We are changing our name and filing more lawsuits against boys.” We just welcome dysfunction, because we welcome more dysfunction.”
“So if you think your son is in the Boy Scouts, it hasn’t been around for a long time. Get them out. Get them out of public school, get them out of the Boy Scouts,” Booyens said. To tell.
The group also appears to be seeking bankruptcy protection because of all the lawsuits, and has a reorganization plan that would allow it to continue its programs while compensating all victims.
“All the people who are coming forward with these claims, obviously they have merit, but everyone’s like, ‘Oh, okay, you’re allowed to exist.’ You can completely hide behind it by changing it to Scouting America.” Sarah Gonzalez he says angrily.
“This should be called ‘Scouting America for Pedophiles,'” agrees Booyens.
Matthew Marsden agrees, pointing out that this is a “degradation of our youth, especially young men.”
“The Boy Scouts were there to prepare you to become a man,” Marsden says. “Of course, allegations of abuse are very serious, but this is a much deeper problem that eviscerates young people and robs them of their masculinity. This is what it means to raise a generation of sissies.”
