Florida Boys Cause Extensive Damage at School Library
Two Florida boys have reportedly caused over $50,000 in damages to their school library, sparking an investigation. This incident was officially reported to police by their mother.
The young suspects, identified as 12-year-old Felix Cohen Romero and 13-year-old Bentley Ryan Wearry, were seen on surveillance footage moments before the damage occurred, according to a post from the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.
Officers responded to a fire alarm at Friendship Elementary School in Deltona early Sunday morning. Body cam footage captured the chaos, revealing a scene of widespread destruction inside the library as officers navigated through the wreckage.
The library’s glass doors were shattered, furniture was broken, and books were scattered everywhere. Graffiti was also found scribbled on the walls, making it clear that the damage was extensive.
Images shared by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office showed the two boys caught on camera before their vandalism spree. They returned later that night, which led to the activation of the fire alarm during their escapade.
After the incident came to light, the boys’ mother contacted authorities and held them accountable for the large repair costs.
In the mugshot photos released by the sheriff’s office, one boy is seen sporting a messy high ponytail, while the other is dressed in a black shirt. Both boys now face multiple charges, including burglary, trespassing, criminal mischief, and theft. It’s hard to believe, but here we are.
