Bigfoot Sighting Reported in Kentucky
It was around 10 p.m. in Kentucky when a few friends took a detour on back roads to check out a lookout spot. It was August—usually, they had been out here many times without any trouble. But that night turned out to be quite different.
As they got out of their vehicles, Clayton, one of the witnesses, shared with the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization that they “heard what sounded like a distant knock.” After about 20 seconds of silence, someone suggested they respond with a whistle or a howl, thinking, “it could be a Bigfoot.” Clayton let a long whistle out, and to their surprise, they heard what sounded like sticks breaking in response.
Feeling uneasy, they jumped back in the cars and continued down the road a bit, planning to turn around and head out. On their way back, they stopped again at the lookout, this time deciding not to exit their vehicles. Clayton shined a spotlight into the woods, simply scanning the area.
Then, around 40 yards away, he saw a dark, hairy figure. It was almost camouflaged in the darkness until it moved. The creature was estimated to be about 7 to 8 feet tall and had its back to them but turned slightly as if checking if they were still there.
Clayton described the creature as having an ape-like face, a cone-shaped head, and yellowish-green eyes. Feeling even more spooked now than before, they decided to leave in a hurry. According to Clayton, the area has a reputation where “coon hunters have had hounds disappear overnight, only to find their tracking collars hanging in trees without a person in sight.”
Though I’m usually skeptical of Bigfoot tales, I do find the subject intriguing. I think it’s wise to leave the credibility of such stories to experts, like BFRO Investigator Charlie Raymond.
Raymond expressed, “I found the witness credible. His story remained consistent from his online submission, through text messages, an initial phone call, and his video interview. The creature’s physical description and behavior, like returning tree knocks and trying to hide from the light, are fairly typical.” He also noted, “I have documented many sightings in the surrounding counties and have had personal interactions with possible Bigfoots in those counties as well.”
So, there it is—another account of a Bigfoot sighting, this one coming from a lookout on Kentucky’s back roads. A credible story, perhaps. But, well, does there really have to be solid evidence?
