Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley: A Bold Love Story
Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley’s romance began with a rather bold encounter. In a candid chat on “Live with Kelly and Mark,” Williams-Paisley shared that her future husband first spotted her while watching the 1991 film “Father of the Bride” – and interestingly, he was on a date with someone else at the time.
The actress joked about the situation, saying, “He was stalking me.” She continued with a light-hearted laugh, adding, “So it could be marriage or prison, and I thought, ‘Marriage seems easier.’”
In recounting the story, Williams-Paisley explained that Paisley was at the movie with his then-girlfriend when, instead of being captivated by his date, he was drawn to her character, Annie Banks. “She kind of broke his heart,” Williams-Paisley noted, which led him to write some of his best music. Somehow, he thought, “Maybe I should call that girl from ‘Father of the Bride,’” as that was originally the film he was supposed to watch with his girlfriend.
“But that just shows his confidence,” she added. “He was watching a movie and thought, ‘It’s not this girl, it’s that girl on the screen.’ And he made it happen.” It’s a playful twist on fate, wouldn’t you say?
Fast forward, the couple tied the knot on March 15, 2003, and just recently celebrated their 23rd anniversary. Williams-Paisley shared a humorous but heartfelt reflection on their journey together. She wrote to Paisley asking him to plan something meaningful for their special day. In the end, they kept it simple and cozy, opting for a low-key night at a “dark bar,” watching the 2026 Academy Awards.
On social media, she shared a collection of photos, reminiscing about their journey. “It’s our 23rd year today (math isn’t really our strong suit). Find someone you can laugh with, do good things with, and commit to,” she wrote, finishing with a sweet birthday wish for her husband: “Happy 20th Birthday, Brad Paisley. I love you.” Together, they are raising two sons, Huck and Jasper.
