NBC has not yet permanently filled Paul Azinger's broadcast reporting analyst position.
This week, Brandel Chamblee will be in the booth at American Express in Palm Springs, California. He will serve as lead analyst for coverage and will sit alongside play-by-play announcer Terry Gannon.
Chamblee is not expected to play. this role In the near future though. The network had not yet replaced Azinger when it did not renew his contract in November, so he is just one of the moving pieces.

He is the fourth person to hold this position since the Hero World Challenge.
Paul McGinley served as lead analyst for the Bahamas. Kevin Kisner then opened his 2024 PGA Tour season with Sentry as an analyst. He will also play that role at the WM Phoenix Open in early February.
Kurt Byram also worked in the booth and was the lead analyst at last week's Sony Open in Hawaii. Now it's the turn of Golf Channel's divided analysts.
Chamblee is one of the studio analysts working on “Live From” and “Golf Central.”
This is nothing new for Chamblee, as he and “Live From” co-host Rich Lerner briefly held such duties at last year's British Open Championship. They took action while NBC was switching from a morning to evening broadcast team.
He is widely known for his polarizing opinions and views. Chamblee has had numerous discussions with Phil Mickelson over the past year regarding the PGA Tour and LIV Golf contract.
No one will forget the full extent of the Patrick Reed lawsuit with Chamblee, which shocked the former Masters champion in the face. Broadcasters aren't afraid to speak their minds and never pull any punches.
It will be interesting to see what kind of discussion exists this weekend. There is no doubt that there will be a great response from golf fans.
He will be part of the broadcast team for all four days of the American Express Tournament. Fans can watch the event on the Golf His channel from 4pm to 7pm. Stream it on Peacock.
