Brandon Aiyuk's wife explains why partners of players are worried at the beginning of camp

Brandon Aiyuk’s wife, Rochelle Cialight, recently shared her thoughts on the NFL WAG season during training camps. After tying the knot in California this past April, she discussed the humorous side of being a partner to an NFL player on social media.

In a TikTok video, she posed some interesting questions: “Why do girlfriends get upset when their partners head to training camps? Why all the complaints online? Let me explain a bit about these camps and the associated anxiety.”

“This marks my husband’s sixth year in the league, and while each training camp feels different, one constant remains: the guys are at camp.” She emphasized the emotional rollercoaster such changes can cause, particularly for women who have to suddenly manage family responsibilities themselves. “Being a mom of a lively four-year-old adds a layer of complexity,” she noted.

Rochelle continued to illustrate that not every player’s partner has the luxury of proximity. “Some women don’t share the same city as their teams and face difficulties during the season. It’s tough when your partner has to leave for camp while you’re back home, and I can see my husband somewhat frequently, unlike others who might not see their men for weeks.”

She highlighted the stress surrounding mini-camps where spots on the team aren’t guaranteed. Players often compete for their positions, and if they don’t make the cut, families may have to relocate. “These sudden changes are serious, and that’s why seeing other WAGs venting online can be a bit of a relief,” she reflected.

Rochelle humorously remarked, “After ‘Love Island’, we now enter the NFL WAG season—and then back to ‘Love Island’!” Her career in the beauty industry and role as a digital content creator have gathered her a following of over 257,000 on TikTok.

At least this couple has been able to stay together since their paths crossed back in 2018, when Aiyuk was still playing college football in Arizona. They welcomed their son, Braylon, in September 2020. It’s worth noting that Aiyuk signed a significant contract extension last August, ensuring a $76 million guarantee after some negotiation challenges.

The San Francisco 49ers drafted Aiyuk in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, selected 25th overall. As the 2025 season approaches, the team is set to face the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle on September 7th.
