ICE Officers Save Toddler at JFK Airport

Quick-thinking ICE officers sprang into action to rescue a 1-year-old boy who lost consciousness while waiting in line at John F. Kennedy Airport.

Footage shared by the Department of Homeland Security reveals a child appearing lifeless in a man’s arms when ICE responders arrived. They successfully performed the Heimlich maneuver, ultimately helping the child resume breathing, according to a statement from DHS.

“This officer’s extraordinary courage exemplifies the selfless service of DHS law enforcement,” the statement emphasized.

As travelers waited in long lines, the infant grew unresponsive and stopped breathing. Panic ensued among the child’s family and bystanders, which caught the attention of ICE officers at the checkpoint. One officer quickly rushed over, took the child, and performed the Heimlich maneuver, restoring the child’s breath in nearly two minutes.

According to Bill Melugin from FOX News, DHS confirmed the episode took place on Wednesday, and the toddler is now fully recovered.

The incident occurred just days after President Trump deployed ICE agents to support TSA employees at airports nationwide amid a prolonged DHS shutdown initiated by Democrats.

Although ICE often generates political debate, many travelers have expressed gratitude toward these agents. Videos circulating show ICE officers distributing water bottles to individuals enduring long waits in TSA lines.

As one tourist remarked, “They’re here to help. They’re not bothering anyone. As long as they check my luggage and get me on the plane, I’ll be fine.”
