An 11-year-old girl is now afraid to go outside after police prevented a mob of Harlem locals from beating up a maniac suspected of slashing her in the head during a rampage in Manhattan on Friday afternoon. said the distraught mother.
Sources said Shaquan Cummings, 30, punched an unsuspecting 43-year-old woman on a street corner after flying over the 116th Street 6 subway platform around 2:15 p.m. It is said that he was captured.
The demon with a long rap sheet used a knife to cut the girl in the back of the head and cut her ear as she stood holding her mother’s hand on a downtown platform, officials said.
Sources said the child felt something in the back of his head and when his mother turned around, she saw a “cutter knife” before the suspect ran into the subway.
Her brave mother tried to hunt down her daughter’s attacker and called the conductor to stop the train, but the Cummings still managed to escape, she recalled.
“It was traumatic,” Gorzata Sladek told the Post Friday night.
“It’s terrible. It’s terrible to see a girl with her head cut off and cut in half, it’s really terrible.”
A UPS employee said the young victim was “scared and crying” while being treated by doctors near the juice bar.
“her head” [was] Bloodstained. The bleeding won’t stop. [She was] Blood was running down her hands and shirt…she was crying. It’s scary,” he added.
The girl later underwent surgery to repair the cut, which required multiple stitches and staples, but her mother said the emotional scars remain.
“She’s not doing well mentally. She doesn’t want to go back to school. She doesn’t want to go out anymore,” Sladek said.
Photos obtained by the Post show one of the victims covered in blood and sobbing as he is carried into the back seat of an ambulance.
Police eventually tracked Cummings just a block away, back to where he allegedly struck the first victim that afternoon.
Wild videos posted on social media show the moment Mr Cummings is surrounded by police as an enraged crowd attempts to defeat street justice.
The footage shows the alleged assailant crouching behind the officer while a man pokes him with a cane.
“Back up!” police shout to the crowd.
“You son of a bitch!” one man yells.
“Don’t let him go!” another man says as police subdue the bloodthirsty mob.
Police eventually took Cummings into custody, but sources say he has been arrested more than 20 times for assault, criminal mischief and fare evasion.
Cummings’ last arrest was just two months ago. Law enforcement insiders said he appeared in court on assault charges.
He was charged Friday night with two counts of assault and child endangerment.
Sladek only hopes that justice is served in this case and that the streets remain a place for New Yorkers to always look over their shoulders.
“You don’t have to worry about someone walking down the street or attacking you. In fact, my daughter has attacked small children, even dogs,” she said. Ta.
