Jorginho Frero Reflects on Controversy Involving His Daughter
Brazilian soccer player Jorginho Frero has recently shared his regrets following an incident where he claimed that singer Chapel Lawn’s bodyguard yelled at his daughter.
Back in March, Frero faced significant backlash on social media after alleging that the bodyguard confronted his wife and their 11-year-old daughter at a restaurant in Brazil. He accused the guard of “harassing” the girl as she walked by their table with a smile. At that time, Breitbart News reported:
Rio de Janeiro’s mayor, Eduardo Cavaliere, imposed a ban on performances in the city after Jorginho accused him of deploying security guards to intimidate his stepdaughter, who was simply admiring Roan. According to Frero, Roan’s team left the young fan, the daughter of actor Jude Law, “very upset” and “in tears.”
In response to the criticisms, Roan clarified that the bodyguard was not part of her security detail and she had not instructed him to yell at the child.
On Monday, Frero released a statement expressing his regret regarding the situation’s impact.
“We felt it was crucial to update you on what transpired over Lola’s weekend. After hearing a lot these past weeks, we thought it was important to clarify everything,” he stated.
He mentioned, “When I learned that my children and wife were approached by a security guard in a threatening manner, I spoke out in the heat of the moment. I reacted like any protective father would. My family’s safety is always my top priority.” He added that they stood by their initial account of the events based on the information they had then.
Frero noted that he had since “become aware of new information” that altered his perspective on the incident, sharing that Chappell-Lone had personally reached out to their family.
He continued, “It was evident that she had no knowledge of what transpired during breakfast and hadn’t instructed anyone to intervene. She recognized the situation’s impact on our child and expressed sympathy.” Frero also pointed out that the security guard later admitted he was representing another artist present at the hotel, emphasizing that, although the guard’s intentions were unclear, he was not acting on Chappell’s orders.
Ultimately, Frero concluded that the incident was a “misunderstanding” and considered the matter settled.
