Aaron Paul Relocates to Paris After Leaving Los Angeles
Aaron Paul recently shared his experiences about moving away from Los Angeles. In an interview, the 46-year-old “Breaking Bad” actor revealed that he and his family have made the transition to living in Paris. He expressed his admiration for the city, noting, “Paris is amazing.” Paul explained that he and his wife, Lauren, had always dreamed of spending a year abroad and wanted to immerse themselves in a different culture.
This move wasn’t just a random decision. It stemmed from a wish to live outside the U.S. that became more urgent after wildfires ravaged parts of Los Angeles in early 2025, prompting them to act on their long-held dreams.
“When the fires happened in Los Angeles, we knew we were done with it,” he reflected. They sold their home in Los Feliz and made their way to Paris. Earlier this year, Paul had listed his three-bedroom house for nearly $9.9 million. The devastating Palisades and Eaton fires in January had resulted in numerous homes being lost, affecting many Hollywood figures.
Among those impacted were stars such as Miles Teller, Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, and Billy Crystal. Crystal, during a benefit concert for victims of the fires, tearfully recounted his own losses, sharing that he fled his home in just the clothes he was wearing and, like many others, had a difficult time coping with the aftermath. When he returned to his property—a place he lived for 46 years—he felt overwhelmed and emotional.
While Aaron Paul’s story is notable, he isn’t the only one making a move. Last year, actor Richard Gere disclosed that he and his family relocated to Spain. Gere mentioned wanting his wife, Alejandra Silva, to be closer to her family and culture. He remarked on the benefits of living in a new culture for their children, stating that it’s quite enriching to not just visit but to truly experience life abroad.
In reflecting on his choices, Gere voiced that it’s a ‘great adventure’ considering he’d never lived outside the U.S. full-time before. Such transitions, spurred by personal and environmental factors, seem to be common among various celebrities looking to reshape their lives and experiences.
