Breitbart Knows More About the Economy Than the White House

The Biden administration’s attempts to cover negative economic news are sure to be thwarted by savvy critics like Breitbart economics editor John Carney and FOX Business host Larry Kudlow. Dew. explained on Thursday’s segment of his show.

Kudlow said during a panel discussion with Carney. shark tank “Mr.

Kudlow, who served as chairman of the National Economic Council during the Trump administration, asked his former colleague Hassett for his thoughts on recent rule changes initiated by the Biden administration that allow the White House to comment on economic data for only 30 minutes. After release.

Carney explained the significance of the change in a Breitbart article Wednesday:

The White House plans to give Americans a new edge in handling economic indicators after polls show strong public disapproval of President Joe Biden’s handling of economic issues. The rules are changing.

Instead of the hour-long waiting period that dates back to the Reagan administration, administration officials will be able to consider major economic announcements in just 30 minutes.

The change would allow White House officials to comment at 9 a.m. on economic data released at 8:30 a.m., before the stock market opens. The risk is that authorities will adjust the market’s reaction. Important data that moves the market, such as the monthly jobs report and inflation report, are typically released at 8:30 a.m.

“The Bidens are so proud of the economy that when the numbers come out at 8:30 in the morning, they don’t want to wait an hour, Kevin, for you or me to be on TV or cable. Like I had to,”’ Kudrow told Hassett. “They want to be on the scene within 30 minutes and maybe push the market.”

“Well, look how much Mr. Carney and Mr. O’Leary know about economics,” Mr. Hassett said, nodding to Mr. Wonderful and Breitbart’s economics editor. “The fact is, if the retail sales numbers came out and the White House came out and said something ridiculous, you’d end up with Breitbart red meat. And they’d quickly change the direction of the market. I’m going to decide.”

“And the fact is that OMB and CEA have a lot of nonpartisan career employees,” he continued. “[They] Really understand the nuances of your data that may be important. For example, like the CPI mentioned earlier. A significant drop in used car prices had a major impact on the overall numbers. So the situation is actually worse than you think. I don’t think putting Larry Kudlow on TV 30 minutes after people reacted immediately has any political effect. ”

Hassett said he supported the rule changes and even suggested they would be put to good use if Trump were re-elected and returned Kudlow to the White House.

“You know, next January there’s going to be a lot of Kudlow henchmen on TV,” he joked. “And let them be out there for 30 minutes, [earlier] I think it’s good to stop negative tendencies. ”

“John Carney and Kevin O’Leary know more about this than we do,” Kudlow said. “It doesn’t matter if we’re in the government or not. They know more about this stuff.”
