Brent Bozell III Retires from Media Research Center
Brent Bozell III officially stepped down from his role as president of the Media Research Center (MRC) on May 27th, as announced in a post on X. He founded the MRC back in 1987 and spent 38 years leading the charge against what he deemed “left-wing bias in news media and popular culture.”
In the organization’s announcement on X, it was revealed that David Bozell, who is the vice president of group growth and development, will succeed his father as president. This transition marks a new chapter for the MRC.
Carl Ottosen, chairman of the MRC board, praised Brent Bozell’s impact, stating that his vision transformed American media. He connected with countless individuals who felt overlooked and established an institution to hold the press accountable. Ottosen expressed gratitude for Bozell’s leadership and confidence in David’s ability to lead the MRC moving forward.
Brent Bozell shared his thoughts on the transition, calling the creation of the Media Research Center one of the greatest honors of his life. He reflected on how what started as a project aimed at revealing media bias has evolved into a movement focused on accountability and empowering Americans to voice their concerns. He expressed trust in the team that will continue the mission.
The board has also decided to honor Brent Bozell with the title of President Honorary. David Bozell, the new president, previously led a separate online activism group before taking over the MRC.
