MRC President Brent Bozell III Announces Departure After 38 Years
The Media Research Center (MRC) revealed on Monday that its founder and president, Brent Bozell III, will be stepping down after nearly four decades in the role. David Bozell, currently the Vice President of Growth and Development, is set to take over the presidency on May 27th.
In a statement, Brent reflected on his time with the MRC, saying, “Establishing the Media Studies Centre was one of the greatest honors of my life. What started as a mission to uncover media bias has blossomed into a movement that holds the press accountable, champions the truth, and empowers countless Americans to voice their concerns. I feel immense pride in what we’ve accomplished together and I have full faith in the team moving forward.”
Interestingly, Brent Bozell has been nominated by former President Donald Trump for an ambassadorial role in South Africa.
Carl Ottosen, chairman of the MRC board, expressed gratitude for Bozell’s establishment of an organization that demands accountability from the media. He noted, “Brent Bozell’s vision has reshaped the landscape of American media. He gave a voice to many who felt overlooked and built an agency that holds the press accountable. We are truly thankful for his contributions and confident that David Bozell is fit to lead MRC into its next chapter.”
David Bozell previously served as president of Foramerica and is involved with the Conservative Action Project (CAP) Coordination Committee and the Washington Institute of Policy Research. He praised his father’s work at the MRC, which aims to expose and scrutinize liberal media bias.
According to an MRC press release, “No one has done more to bring media corruption to light and defend the truth than my father.” David added, “Brent has positioned the MRC at the forefront of cultural battles. I’m honored to continue that mission.” Reflecting on the media landscape, he acknowledged that while it has changed, the MRC remains committed to fearless truth-seeking, much like it has from the very beginning.
