Brett Favre Praises Notre Dame Coach Marcus Freeman’s Perfect Response to ESPN’s Race-Baiting Question

Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman had the perfect answer to a racist question from ESPN's Molly McGrath after Freeman's team advanced to the national championship for the first time in more than a decade.

Freeman helped the Fighting Irish make history this week by defeating Penn State 27-24 in the Orange Bowl and sending the team to Friday's Cotton Bowl Classic.

But instead of focusing on the historic match, ESPN's McGrath was more interested in the race and the race. asked What did Freeman think about being the first black head coach to reach the title game, according to FOX News?

Mr. Freeman, who has been asked this question repeatedly, is not interested in discussing racial issues and deftly steers Mr. McGrath back to what he was talking about.

“You know, I've said this before. I don't want to take attention away from the team. It's an honor and I want all the coaches, minorities, black, Asian, white, etc. But I hope that these talented individuals will continue to have the opportunity to coach young players like this,” Freeman said.

“But this isn't about me, it's about us. And we're going to celebrate what we did because it's special,” he added.

Freeman received much credit for bringing McGrath's racism back into football.

Brett Favre, one of the former NFL stars, praised Freeman's TV hit.

“It's a terrible question, but it was a great response from the Notre Dame head coach,” Favre said. “Sports should bring people together, not separate them.”

Mr. Fabre was never alone. Many people on social media praised the coach.
