Brew Crew Celebrates World Series Victory with a Wild Parade
If you’re having one of those days, just think: you could be a beer in Wisconsin right now.
The Milwaukee Brewers sure had a blast during their World Series parade on Friday—saying they had a good time feels like, well, an understatement. Right fielder Sal Frelick made headlines with a bold proclamation at the rally.
“I’m going to have a beer for every single person here, I’m having 100,000 beers! Let’s go!” Frelick shouted into the mic, sparking enthusiasm among the massive crowd.
Frelick had quite the 24-hour stretch, having performed a Lambeau Leap as the Brewers introduced the Commissioner’s Trophy during a Green Bay Packers game the night before. In his speech on Friday, he made sure everyone knew that team captain Christian Yelich wouldn’t be able to tackle him like a football player if he tried.
During his address, Frelick shared how his best friends are all on the team, spending tons of time together off the field. The sense of camaraderie was evident when they convinced event organizers to let hitting coach Daniel Vogelbach take the stage for a speech.
Vogelbach, perhaps having indulged in a few drinks, didn’t just come to give a speech—oh no, the players wanted him to sing some karaoke too.
As “Stacy’s Mom” blasted from the speakers, Vogelbach seemed to realize he was in for something special. He quipped, “All right, if you guys really want this, we’re going to do it.”
Once he started belting out a few lines from the Fountains of Wayne classic, it was clear he likely wouldn’t be winning any singing competitions like “American Idol” or “The Voice” anytime soon. Nonetheless, the crowd loved it, dancing and singing along with the enthusiastic hitting coach.
It’s safe to say the vibes in Milwaukee were over-the-top celebratory.
