Milwaukee Brewers fans experienced a tough time recently, losing both jobs and a game as their team went down 0-2 in the National League Championship Series. A notable incident involved Shannon Kobilarchik, who was captured on video making threats to call ICE against a Hispanic fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
After the Dodgers surged ahead with a 4-1 lead in the seventh inning, Ricardo Fossad shared his frustration, questioning why American Family Field felt so subdued. Kobilarchik reacted by disparaging Fossad for not drinking beer “like a real man.” He even suggested, somewhat jokingly, to call ICE to a nearby Brewers supporter.
Fossad, asserting his U.S. citizenship and military service in two wars, faced aggressive commentary from Kobilarchik. He’s reported to have responded defiantly, claiming, “ICE is not going to do anything to me. Good luck. Call ICE, call ICE, you idiot,” amidst the escalating tension.
Ultimately, Kobilarchik was confirmed to be “no longer” with ManpowerGroup and resigned from the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin board. Fossad recounted that Kobilarchik had alerted stadium security before being removed.
Despite the confrontation, Fossad expressed some sympathy for Kobilarchik, stating he doesn’t believe it warranted losing her job. “I feel sorry for her,” he said, suggesting that emotions ran high and it wasn’t a situation that justified such severe consequences.
The Brew Crew stated that both individuals involved were ejected, with Fossad reportedly disciplined for actions outside the confrontation shown in the video. They emphasized the importance of respectful conduct at games and confirmed that neither Kobilarchik nor Fossad would be welcome back to their venue.
As for the series, the NLCS moves back to the West Coast on Thursday, with the Dodgers needing to win two of their next five games to secure a spot in the World Series for a second consecutive year and fifth time in nine seasons.
