Trial of Brian Walsh in Wife’s Murder Continues

During the third day of Brian Walsh’s murder trial in Massachusetts, police officers and customs agents provided testimony regarding the case. Walsh is accused of murdering his wife, Anna Walsh, who has been missing.

Officer Nicholas Guarino of the Massachusetts State Police resumed his testimony, focusing on Brian Walsh’s internet search history. This included inquiries about disposing of a body and methods for DNA removal, as well as unrelated searches for luxury cars, diamond jewelry, and explicit videos related to infidelity.

It’s been noted that Anna had a relationship with a D.C. real estate agent named William Fastow, a name Brian Walsh also searched online. Prosecutors suggested two motives for the alleged murder: one, anger over the affair, and two, the belief that being a single parent might aid him in evading an unrelated art fraud conviction.

On the stand next was U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent William Foley, who discussed Anna’s travel arrangements prior to her disappearance. According to his testimony, Anna had one flight canceled and another flight marked as a no-show.

Cohasset Police K-9 Sergeant Patrick Reardon and his dog also participated in the search for Anna on January 5, 2023. They searched the grounds around the family home but found nothing significant—just the dog itself in the backyard. The defense opted not to cross-examine him.

An airport records clerk, Thomas Menino, testified regarding Anna’s flights. He stated that she had her Christmas Day flight refunded and later boarded another flight. However, multiple flights she booked afterward were canceled, with the last sighting of her on January 1, 2023.

No cross-examination occurred after Menino’s statement. Gregory Laurence, an intelligence officer with the Cohasset Police Academy, then shared that Brian indicated the last time he saw Anna was January 1, when she departed for her flight to Washington. A missing person’s report was filed by Walsh on January 4.
