Brittany Mahomes Expresses Gratitude for Husband’s Return from Injury

Brittany Mahomes shared her appreciation on social media after her husband, Patrick Mahomes, received medical clearance to return from a serious knee injury that sidelined him last season.

On Saturday, Brittany, 30, posted a video on her Instagram Story, showing Mahomes and his team arriving for training camp at the Western Missouri campus. She expressed her feelings, stating, “Watching him do what he loves, writing this. Thank you so much🙏.”

Patrick, who had surgery to repair his torn ACL and LCL following an injury in a December 14 game against the Chargers, made a light-hearted comment about being caught from an unflattering angle in photos.

“I feel stronger than I’ve ever felt in terms of strength and lifting,” said the three-time Super Bowl champion. He added, “I’m excited just to be able to play soccer.”

He reflected on the ongoing repairs at the practice facility in Kansas City, stating he looks forward to being back on the field with his teammates, calling it “a lot of fun.”

The medical team, along with Dr. Dan Cooper, who performed Patrick’s surgery, cleared him to participate fully in camp on Wednesday.

Kansas City head coach Andy Reid shared his optimism about Mahomes, noting, “He’s very optimistic. But I think we’ll have to see how things go.” He emphasized a cautious approach, saying, “Let’s take it one day at a time and see what happens.”

Patrick Mahomes announced he plans to return for Week 1 of the 2026 season, with the Chiefs scheduled to play against the defending AFC West champion Broncos.

The injury occurred in Week 15 when he suffered a torn ACL and damaged his knee joint in a close loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. This defeat marked the Chiefs’ first playoff elimination during the Mahomes era.
