Oba Femi Makes Waves in Atlantic City
Oba Femi arrived in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and was greeted with a royal reception. Recently, he triumphed in the King of the Ring tournament at Night of Champions. For a moment, it seemed like he would pick either Roman Reigns or Sami Zayn as his opponent for SummerSlam. But then, Brock Lesnar made a surprise entrance, much to the crowd’s delight.
Lesnar confronted Femi, criticizing him for the smack talk he’d been dishing out while Lesnar was away. It seemed personal. “Speak and get hit,” he said, before delivering a swift kick to Femi’s groin and an F5 move that sent him crashing to the ground.
But Femi wasn’t about to back down. He quickly got back up, challenging Lesnar to a match at SummerSlam, set to take place in Minneapolis at U.S. Bank Stadium. Lesnar accepted, but with a twist—he announced that their match would occur inside Hell in a Cell, which sent the audience into a frenzy.
Raw general manager Adam Pearce conveyed that Femi might need to delay his title shot for a while. Femi reassured him, saying, “The title will always be there. The championship isn’t going anywhere. I’ll take it when I want it… This needs to end, and I’m going to end it.”
This rivalry has been brewing since before WrestleMania 42 when Femi issued an open challenge that Lesnar answered. Femi won that encounter, leading Lesnar to momentarily step back from the wrestling scene.
Eventually, Lesnar made a comeback, defeating Femi at Clash of Italy. Now, both superstars are gearing up for their rematch at SummerSlam, which is set for August 1st and 2nd. It should be quite the showdown.
