Broncos get calls on No. 20 pick in Steelers’ 2025 NFL Draft dilemma

Denver appears to have golden tickets for the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Broncos, now owner of Pick No. 20, “called a call from a team interested in potentially rising potential” in the first round. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday.

Schefter reported Earlier in the week, the Steelers are one of those ways they are “want to deal with quarterbacks early” teams, following the Titans, who won the No. 1 pick for Miami’s Come Ward.

Quarterbacks Needy Browns and Giants followed on No. 2 and No. 3 with Saints on No. 9.

Picks 2 and 3 are heavily linked to Pennsylvania’s Abdul Carter and two-way Colorado star Travis Hunter, but trades by those teams into the first round cannot be ruled out, opening up the possibility that the Steelers will even be swiped onto the watch.

Post’s Steve Selby predicts the Giants will trade back to the first round, but at No. 24, the Vikings grab a grab for Oremisquarterback Jackson Dirt.

The Steelers remained 21st in Selby’s final mock draft, where they polarize Colorado quarterback Chedur Sanders.

Pittsburgh is looking for long-term stability in his quarterback position after losing Justin Fields and Russell Wilson to free agency.

The Steelers brought in Wilson and Fields in March last year. In the same month, he treated the team’s first round pick, quarterback Kenny Pickett, to the Eagles in 2022. He has since been traded for the Browns.

As for the Broncos, they’ve chosen eight spots more than last year after riding in the 10-7 season, including a playoff appearance following a solid rookie campaign from quarterback Bonicks.

Nix was the sixth quarterback to be selected in the sixth round, 12th overall in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Caleb Williams went first to the Bears overall, with Jaden Daniels being the manager in second place and Drake May being the Patriots in third place.

The Falcons chose Michael Penix Jr. at No. 8 in the NFL Draft surprise, with the Vikings taking JJ McCarthy to 10th.

The 2025 NFL Draft begins Thursday night in Green Bay.
