Bronny James entering the transfer portal good or bad look?

Despite all the hype surrounding the women’s college basketball Final Four and the men’s Final Four, something else is dominating the headlines.

Bronny James, the son of NBA star LeBron James, has entered the transfer portal with the possibility of leaving USC.

Steve Kim doesn’t think this is good for LeBron.

“I don’t think it’s a great look for LeBron,” Kim told Whitlock. “He’s the one who talked about wanting his son to be an NBA teammate. That’s on him. By the way, he’s the one who caused a little bit of a stir when he was taken out of the mock draft.”

“So he put unnecessary or extra pressure on his son, and it shouldn’t be put on anyone but him,” Kim says.

Whitlock agrees that it looks bad, but for a different reason.

“LeBron’s NBA career has been defined by, ‘Oh, we’ve got a problem, let’s quit and go somewhere else,'” Whitlock said. “And that mentality is ruling basketball right now. And here’s his son, who spent one season at the University of Southern California. They stood by him, but he had problems with cardiac arrest. He got through the season.”

Whitlock believes this means Bronny is following in LeBron’s footsteps, meaning that when a problem arises, he walks away rather than putting up with it.

“You don’t quit. Good luck. You eradicate it. That mentality is completely gone,” Whitlock said, adding, “LeBron, I don’t think he started it. I think he has the face that he can quit at any time and that’s no problem.”
