LeBron James adds more intrigue to his son Bronny’s basketball future.
Bronny spent his freshman season playing at USC, but a post by X magazine college hoops reporter Dick Weiss on Tuesday night suggested the NBA legend’s son would be entering the transfer portal.
The original report has since been removed and retracted. Weiss will post later He could not confirm the transfer portal news, but said, “It would be natural if that happens.”
a Report from the Orange County Register He also suggested that Bronny would likely prepare for the NBA Draft rather than enter the transfer portal.
Before the Register report was revealed, James was asked about the possibility of Bronny entering the portal after the Lakers’ win over the Raptors in Toronto.
“He’s nowhere to be found. [the report] “But at the end of the day, Bronny is his own man,” James said. “He’s going to have to make some difficult decisions and when he’s ready to make those decisions, he’ll let us all know. But as his family, we’re confident that no matter what he does… We support you.”
There has been speculation that Bronny will enter this year’s NBA Draft, and Klutch Sports reports CEO Rich Paul told ESPN last month. Any decision regarding LeBron’s son entering the draft will be based on which teams are interested in him, not where he will be selected.
James has expressed interest in the past in playing with Bronny in the NBA before he retired.
Reports that Bronny would be entering the transfer portal came after USC head coach Andy Enfield left the program to take a job at SMU.

The Trojans went 15-18 in Bronny’s first NCAA season with the program.
He appeared in 25 games, six of which were starts.
He suffered a cardiac arrest during summer training at the University of Southern California and did not make his USC debut until the ninth game of the season against Long Beach State.
He averaged 4.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in 19.6 minutes per game.
