Authorities Offer $1,000 Reward for Information in New Jersey Mother’s Stabbing Death
The investigation into the murder of 35-year-old Brooke Hanlon, a psychotherapist and new mother from Chester Township, New Jersey, is still underway. It’s been a month since emergency medical personnel arrived at her home following an anonymous 911 call reporting serious injuries at around 4:30 p.m. Unfortunately, local authorities, along with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, have yet to identify a suspect or make any arrests.
After Brooke was found stabbed in her residence, her husband has not been heard from in weeks. This has raised numerous questions, one of which involves his whereabouts in the aftermath of the tragedy.
Paige Haggerty, Brooke’s sister, has been one of the few family members to comment publicly on the situation. In a recent interview, she shared her grief but was careful not to disclose too much about her brother-in-law’s involvement or any evidence related to the case.
Haggerty reflected on the complexities of the situation, saying, “This is a murder case, and there are many things my family and I simply don’t know. I can’t discuss aspects of this publicly. I want to express my thoughts, but I have to maintain the integrity of the investigation.” It’s a reminder that, even in tragedy, the legal process must be respected.
On June 6, authorities responded to the couple’s home after receiving the 911 call. The Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed that Brooke died due to multiple sharp force injuries, classifying her death as a homicide.
A neighbor mentioned observing significant police activity around their residence on the day of the incident. “I spoke with Connor a few times before, mainly through email. He usually texts when there’s a bear in the area,” she noted, expressing concern over the unusual number of police cars outside their home that day. She reached out to Connor, offering assistance, but received no response.
While confirmations are pending, it remains unclear who made the 911 call that day or whether Connor and their baby were present when Brooke was attacked. As for the couple’s child, Haggerty informed that the baby is currently with family.
Despite the ongoing investigation, records show Connor has no criminal history and has not been charged with any wrongdoing. Authorities continue to seek any information on the case, offering a reward of up to $1,000 for tips that may lead to a breakthrough.
In Haggerty’s words, “We are focused on preserving her legacy. I never thought Brooke’s life would end in such a tragic way.” As the situation unfolds, the public remains cautious, hoping for justice in this heartbreaking case.
