Brooke Shields Celebrates 60th Birthday with Beach Photos

Brooke Shields recently shared a glimpse into her life as she turned 60, showcasing that age is just a number—at least in her book. Over the weekend, she took to Instagram to celebrate her birthday with vibrant photos of herself lounging on the beach in a bikini.

“Today I woke up in paradise…and with a new decade of life! This is my gratitude for all the love on my birthday,” she wrote in the caption. The post included a photo of her relaxing in a black bikini, draped in a sun hat and adorned with a thick gold chain while her feet peeked from the sand.

Her celebrity friends quickly chimed in on the comments, congratulating her on hitting this milestone. Christy Brinkley and Ricky Lake, among others, praised her looks and celebrated her special day with warm wishes.

Even her hair care brand shared a message, declaring a commitment to cutting out “nonsense” in their life. Yet, Shields also reflected on turning 60, emphasizing that this age isn’t about slowing down. “That’s a change only for those in their 20s,” she remarked about perceptions of aging.

“Today I woke up in paradise…and in the next decade of my life! This is six or zero! I’m grateful for the love I had on my birthday.”

Shields is no stranger to sharing moments from her life, including previous bikini photos on social media, like those from her trip to the Bahamas. The actress has talked about the challenges of growing up in front of the cameras and how it has shaped her view of beauty, which she once described as “a burden and responsibility.” However, she’s grown to see it as “freedom” in her life now.

Reflecting on her documentary “Pretty Baby,” she expressed her appreciation for her resilience. It’s striking for her to realize how she’s transformed from a self-conscious girl to a confident woman. Shields has gotten used to the critiques about aging, saying that others often see it as a humiliation when public figures grow older.

In discussing Hollywood’s often unrealistic standards for aging, Shields has pointed out how liberating it feels to not be consumed by the pressure of maintaining a youthful appearance. “You can’t grow, you can’t age,” she noted, acknowledging the societal expectations. Yet she finds joy in life, embracing all that comes with it—food, friends, and yes, tequila.
