Brooks Koepka Struggles at PGA Championship
This week at the 2025 PGA Championship held at the Cool Hollow Club, Brooks Koepka, a prominent player from Liv Golf, faced a tough time. The atmosphere was not exactly in his favor, especially with fans shouting at him as he made his way across the course on Friday during the second round.
As he walked between the holes, shouts from the grandstand reached him. One heckler remarked about the guaranteed money Koepka reportedly earned—over $100 million, I think, to join a Saudi-backed league. Koepka, clearly taken aback, wasn’t about to let it slide.
“Do you really want to say that here?” he responded sharply, echoing the remark back as he continued his walk, seemingly frustrated. That day, he struggled, finishing the round five over par, which… I guess didn’t help with his concentration, right? The heckler didn’t make things easier, but Koepka decided to engage anyway.
Throughout the round, he also recorded six bogeys and two double bogeys, which certainly didn’t help his situation. While Koepka has switched to the Liv Golf Tour, he remains a formidable contender in major tournaments. He previously claimed five major titles, notably winning the PGA Championship in 2018, 2019, and 2023. However, it’s been a while since he’s made a significant impact in these events, with his best finish last season being a tie for 26th. Just last month, he missed the cut at the Masters, which must have been pretty disappointing.
Next month, he’ll have another chance at the US Open at Oakmont. One can only hope he can turn things around after this challenging outing.
