Brooks Koepka heats up ahead of PGA Championship with LIV Golf Singapore win

Reigning PGA Championship winner Brooks Koepka won his fourth LIV golf title and went wild in Singapore.

After shooting a 7-under 64 on the second day, Koepka followed up with a 3-under 68 in Sunday’s final round. He finished at 15 under, winning by two strokes over Cam Smith and Mark Leishman.

“I felt hot, but it was mostly because of the heat,” Koepka said. “I played very consistently and made mistakes in the right places. That’s what I do when I play lead. I don’t have to force anything.”

In the final round, he had to make four birdies and one bogey to stop the Australians from chasing him.

This was also the first time he won in front of his son Crew.

This week saw a resurgence for the former Florida State Seminole.

He hasn’t played very well on the LIV Golf Tour this year, finishing in the top 10 only twice before this win.

Koepka finished 28th and 46th in Hong Kong and Miami, respectively. Things started to go in the right direction in Adelaide as Koepka finished alone in 10th place.

Koepka alluded to his performance at Augusta as motivation.

“I feel good. I feel much better than last week. It was just turning a corner for me,” Koepka said. “As I said earlier, I think you felt at one of the press conferences that you weren’t getting results. You were improving, but you weren’t getting results. You’re getting results and your hard work is paying off. I’m glad that

The two-time US Open champion explained how playing in the wind caused the ball to move in the wrong direction and caused him to fall into bad habits.

But things seem to be working out for Koepka, as he seems to be peaking at the right time.

“Winning always helps, but I have the same expectation every time I tee it up, and that’s to win,” Koepka said. “Those are my expectations and what I want to do. One result doesn’t really mean anything in the grand scheme of things. A lot can change in two weeks. there is.”

Koepka has two weeks until the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club. He will be aiming for his sixth major championship and fourth PGA championship.
