Browns’ Chedur Sanders Faces Injury Ahead of Preseason Game
The Cleveland Browns announced that Chedur Sanders has suffered a diagonal strain during Wednesday’s practice, which means he’ll likely miss the upcoming preseason matchup against the Eagles on Saturday.
Sanders, who is 23, sustained the injury while throwing during a drill early in practice and had to sit out for the remainder of the session.
Further evaluations indicated an oblique strain. As a result, the team has categorized him as “Daily” and he will not participate in Thursday’s practice.
In fact, the Browns have stated he is “impossible” to play on Saturday.
A video from WKYC captured Deion Sanders’ son appearing to throw early and looking a bit uncomfortable during the session.
After practice, it was noted that Sanders and Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts were spotted having an extensive conversation, which seemed quite private and engaging.
“I’m making the conversations intimate. We had a very long chat,” Hurts shared afterward. “He wanted to come to me and just talk. I’m always here… I offered my perspective on what I was seeing and how I managed things. It really takes patience, hard work, and resilience. You have to want it.”
The unfortunate incident for Sanders comes just days after he had been receiving a significant number of reps in practice.
It’s worth mentioning that Sanders had a solid showing in the Browns’ initial preseason game against Carolina, completing 14 out of 23 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns in just the first half.
Initially, he was slated to start in the second preseason game this Saturday, but with fellow rookie Dilong Gabriel also dealing with hamstring issues, it’s now unclear who will be leading the team.
