Cleveland Browns QB Chedur Sanders Faces Traffic Tickets
Police documents indicate that Chedur Sanders, the rookie quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, has received two traffic citations and has not shown up in court.
Interestingly, Sanders was dealing with these tickets while participating in his teammate David Ng-hyuk’s charity softball event last Thursday. “I personally made some wrong choices, and I can acknowledge that,” Sanders remarked. “It’s not… well, it’s not great, but I’ve learned from it.”
The 23-year-old quarterback was pulled over in Strongsville, Ohio, for driving at 101 mph in a 60 mph zone. This was his second speeding violation this month, following another ticket issued by the Medina Municipal Court on June 6. In this instance, he was cited by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Sanders reportedly did not attend the court hearing for the first ticket on June 13. According to Browns spokesperson Peter John Baptist, “He’s taking care of the tickets.”
The Browns recently wrapped up their mandatory minicamp on June 12, marking the end of the organized offseason program. The team will next convene for training camp starting on July 22.
There’s a bit of competition among the quarterbacks, as the Browns have five on their roster but no clear starter. Deshaun Watson had surgery on his tendon in October 2024 and then re-ruptured his Achilles tendon in January. The team also traded for Kenny Pickett from the Philadelphia Eagles and signed Joe Fraco to a one-year deal before the NFL Draft. With Sanders and others like Dilongabriel joining the mix, it’s uncertain who will take the lead come the season opener.
