Browns willing to consider Shedeur Sanders as a potential starter

Shedeur Sanders is showing promise as a potential starter for the Browns in the near future.

Reports indicate that Cleveland is considering keeping Sanders as their starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

This scenario might mirror that of fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, who had a few starting opportunities earlier this season.

However, Sanders’ future in that role will be determined by his performance against the 49ers this Sunday, as indicated by recent reports.

He seems to have had a good week of practice, which has earned him another chance as the starter.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski commended Sanders for his hard work and communication with teammates, but he also emphasized that nothing is guaranteed. “If you do well one game, you still have more challenges ahead,” he remarked.

Last week, in his first NFL start, Sanders completed 11 out of 20 passes for 209 yards, including a touchdown and an interception, leading the Browns to a 24-10 victory against the Raiders.

Despite this commendable performance, Sanders has expressed a desire to keep competing for the starting position. “I’m not one to get complacent. Every opportunity is a chance to prove myself,” he mentioned. His thoughts reflect a deeper understanding of how quickly circumstances can shift in the league.

In his own words, “I always strive to surpass expectations and to be the best version of myself for the team.”

The Browns’ game against San Francisco is set for Sunday at 1 p.m.
