It’s been clear this offseason that LeBron James has told the Los Angeles Lakers he won’t be re-signing in free agency, opting instead to search for a new team to wrap up his illustrious NBA career.
This situation is particularly significant given that James has spent the last eight years with the Lakers. His family has deeply rooted connections to Los Angeles at this point. Not to mention, his son Bronny is on the Lakers roster, and LeBron still resides there with his wife Savannah and their daughter Zuri.
The only one in LeBron’s immediate family not living in Los Angeles most of the year is his younger son, Bryce, who is busy playing basketball at the University of Arizona.
Bryce isn’t the most active on social media; in fact, he hasn’t posted on Instagram since February. Still, he made a point to comment on a few posts from his girlfriend, Sadie Johnson.
In one of her recent posts, she shared a photo of herself relaxing outside a restaurant, enjoying a drink that seemed to have matcha and maybe pomegranate seeds. The caption read, “Just because 🍵🩵,” and Bryce’s response was simply a drooling emoji.
It’s kind of amusing to think that Bryce’s first public comment after his father’s decision was a drooling emoji on his girlfriend’s post. Of course, the James family likely discussed LeBron’s future extensively before anything was made public, so Bryce probably wasn’t caught off guard. And, you know, being 19, he can definitely get away with a cheeky emoji or two.
