Tragic Discovery: Couple Found Dead in Oakland
A husband and wife, known for starting a luxury clothing brand in California, were found shot dead outside their home on a hillside, prompting a wave of sorrow and concern among family members who shared unsettling details leading up to their deaths.
On October 2, police in Oakland confirmed the identities of the deceased as Bryan Walker and Michelle Min, who were the founders of the women’s luxury apparel company, Bryn Walker.
Michelle’s brother, Paul Min, conveyed to the media that he suspects Bryan shot Michelle before taking his own life. However, the authorities have not verified this narrative.
“This is still an ongoing investigation, and we can’t provide more information at this point,” stated the Oakland police.
Unfolding Details
According to Paul Min, Bryan had been struggling with severe financial issues, losing significant amounts in risky ventures. He painted a picture of Bryan as a genuinely honest and hardworking individual, saying that it’s hard to reconcile that image with the accusations of violence surrounding his sister’s death.
Just days before the tragedy, Paul mentioned that he and Michelle had come to the agreement that Bryan might need psychiatric assistance after he made a troubling comment about wanting to “end things.” It was reported that Michelle had plans to have Bryan hospitalized for treatment on the day the tragedy occurred.
Investigators have not yet confirmed the family’s insights regarding Bryan’s mental health and financial situation, nor have they determined a motive for the incident.
Responding officers found both individuals with gunshot wounds shortly after 10:30 a.m. and attempted to revive them until paramedics arrived, but they were pronounced dead on the scene.
The lead agency in the investigation, Oakland police, recovered a firearm at the site and are exploring the possibility of a murder-suicide but have not definitively established who discharged the weapon.

Bryn Walker was founded by the couple after they relocated to California from Kansas, where they first met in the 1980s. The brand has been based in Berkeley since 1992, producing and designing its clothing locally in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Currently, Bryn Walker operates six company-owned stores and provides clothing to approximately 1,000 boutiques across the country. Its retail locations include two stores in Berkeley and one in Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, on Martha’s Vineyard.
