Mike Evans has decided not to test the free agent market. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers star wide receiver agreed to a two-year contract extension earlier this week.

Evans confirmed the deal by posting a photo of himself in a Buccaneers jersey and a photo of Leonardo DiCaprio from The Wolf of Wall Street.

Now that Evans has established himself with the Bucs for the next few years, he hopes to get a chance to catch passes from the same quarterback in 2024.

Evans has high praise for quarterback Baker Mayfield and said he hopes to share a locker room with the signal-caller next season.

“I mean, I’m very confident,” Evans said Friday when asked about Baker’s return. “He’s not 100 percent, but he played really well for us last year. The city embraced him and the players loved him. Hopefully we’ll have him back. But he should do what’s best for him.”

The Bucks won the NFC South for the second year in a row, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in the wild card round.

Evans believes the Bucs provide an ideal situation for Mayfield next season.

“I just want what’s best for him,” Evans said. “I think the best thing for him is to play with me and Chris.” [Godwin], but there are plenty of great receivers in this league who could utilize his services as well. ”
